As time goes on our route will likely evolve further. And, as I found out on my ride from Toronto to Quebec City, it can change on the fly as well. So the route below is the guideline we’re going by. Depending on where we spend the night, this could change a bit. But at least it gives us a general idea of where to search for couchsurfing hosts as we go.

At this point I’ve booked the entire month of July as vacation and we’ll be departing on July 1st. That gives us an extra week or so beyond what is below for anything from mechanical problems, to bad weather, to taking a few days as a side trip, to just wanting to spend a few more days in a town we like.

Part 1: Toronto to Boston

Part 2: Provincetown to NYC

  1. This will be such a great trek! Hopefully you’ll find routes with lots of tree coverage to help keep you cool and hydrated. :)

My New England adventure was done via Amtrak rail pass (and bus when that wasn’t an option), but it was basically Toronto – Syracuse – Boston – Hyannis, MA – Nantucket – Providence – New Haven (w/ PodCamp CT!) – Burlington, VT – Syracuse – Toronto. It was just wonderful!
